Expected Contribution

High earners in the community are often expected to contribute to social causes. These obligations can drain their resources and delay their ability to build savings and other financial foundations for the future.

Income is Used

Income is often used to support multiple households, especially when others in the community lack steady income. As a result, successful individuals are frequently asked to cover extra costs, which limits their ability to save and build capital for future investments.

Social Pressure to Spend

Weddings, funerals, traditional ceremonies, gifts, and community contributions can become costly when people fear judgment for giving less. For example, someone may feel pressured to pay for a large funeral contribution, buy expensive gifts, or fund a ceremony even when they cannot afford it. The pressure tied to success can lead to overspending and place a heavy burden on the individual.

Dependency can develop.

Everyone in the community stops working and only expects the successful person to step in whenever there is a need. This can be negative when others within the community are not stepping up to make their own success.  Creating your own success is a sustainable step towards a financially strong community.

Social obligations make it difficult to save. Without savings, people cannot build capital; without capital, they cannot fund projects or investments. As a result, individuals and communities remain in the same financial position over time.

Be very strategic with how you spend your money. Your future depends on it.
