Christians Should “NEVER” Ignore Politics

On Sundays, we are often instructed to focus on our spiritual life. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. However, we should not neglect the world we physically live in.

In Jeremiah 29:7, believers there were instructed to seek the peace of the city and pray for it. We should be very active in the city politics we live in.

For some reason, either by unintended consequences or lack of foresight, Christians have moved away from politics. Viewing it as a dirty rag that needs to be thoroughly washed, before we can meddle in it.

This view has put Christians at a terrible disadvantage. Undoing a good chunk of the hard work that was put in during the founding years of this country.

We are blessed that those who went before us saw the need for God and did so through our constitution. It is our duty to make sure we keep what was given to us.

In Mathew 5:13, we are instructed to be salt of the earth, with a caution of not losing our saltiness. A question can be posed; have we lost our saltiness?

Christians need to share God’s word, pay full attention to politics, and stay active in your community.
